Continuing my habit of regular blogging once a year! Here are some of my exercise highlights that I didn’t write about at the time.

In March, I had a fabulous solo cycling weekend. I got the train from Paddington to Bristol, and cycled to Bath along the Bristol and Bath railway path. After a night staying with friends I then set off on the Bath to Bournemouth NCN cycle route, through the two tunnels and down through Radstock and Frome to Sturminster Newton. It’s a well signposted route, with traffic free sections, through beautiful countryside. I wasn’t prepared for how cold it would be, so ended up wearing all four pairs of socks I had taken with me and still had freezing feet. I stayed the night at the Swan Inn in Sturminster Newton and have never been so happy to get into a hot bath.

The route continued the next day down the North Dorset trailway which starts just round the corner from the pub. I got a bit lost in Wimborne Minster and ended up looping round the town a couple of times, but made it to Bournemouth where I had fish and chips on the beach before heading home on the train. I cycled around 120 miles over the three days and would love to do it again on a warm sunny weekend!
