I got invited to speak at St Andrews Chaplaincy in April this year, and hatched a plan to do my Cowell Club 100th location parkrun while I was there. I fitted in Ally Pally on the 1st January, and then Soham, Thames Path, Thurrock, Stockley Country and Tamar Lakes at Easter My friend Anne who has recently moved to Scotland drove up to meet me at St Andrews and it was brilliant to see her.

Next parkrun milestone was my 250th at Southall in May. Anna and I had worked out that we could coincide her 100th with my 250th. Then I noticed that Jonny could do his 150th that day, and Anna’s friend Jags was also on his 100th – so 600 between us! Honestly, that made my nerdy heart happy.

And the final parkrun event of the year was interviewing Paul Sinton Hewitt at Greenbelt – such a delight! I really enjoyed chatting to him beforehand, and he was great in the interview. I got emotional at the end, thanking him for parkrun, and he got a standing ovation. So many people have benefited from parkrun – amazing.
